Southbound Metropolitan line through trains to not call at Baker Street

Back in February, London Underground had proposed to work on the platforms at Baker Street and allow southbound Metropolitan line trains through to Aldgate to miss the station. The works were cancelled and only platform 1 got platform extensions.

But now these works are most definitely going ahead. From this coming Monday (5 July) until 23 July, southbound Metropolitan line through services to Aldgate will not be stopping at Baker Street. The only Metropolitan line trains stopping at Baker Street will be all northbound services and all trains terminating at Baker Street (see photo).

This is due to platform works taking place at Baker Street in preparation for the brand new S stock trains that are due to be delivered to the Metropolitan line at the end of this year.

As a result of the platform works, it means during peak hours, there will be a slightly reduced service on the Uxbridge branch. In addition, all Amersham trains during off peak hours will be starting and terminating from Wembley Park instead.
