Progress of works at Willesden Junction – part 2
It seems so much is going on at Willesden Junction at the moment! New footbridges, walkways and the newly installed bay platform are all good improvements to the station (minus the long awaited roundel signs). Here is the gallery of the progress.
1. On the high level platforms, you can see platform extensions taking place.

2. Beyond the fencing, there appears to be new walkways being installed to connect the high level platforms at the ends

3. A lot of construction works is taking place

4. More construction works and a lot of materials scattered across the area between the two high level platforms

5. Evidence of a new extension to the existing footbridge on the low level platforms. Notice that some of the shelter roof had to be destroyed in order to accommodate this. This will allow direct connection to platform 1 as a result of the bay platform extension

6. The end buffer of the bay platform extension

7. The back wall is new and has allowed this extension of the bay platform to take place

Looking good. We await for completion of the works very soon…and the class 378s to appear on the Watford to Euston line as well!
