Watford to Euston line station progress – Watford Junction
The London Overground presence is felt as far north as the Overground’s most northernly terminus at Watford Junction station. Here TfL have been able to mount Overground branded station name plates and other signs and if you closely enough you may even spot a roundel or two.
Here are photos from the station at the moment…
1. New permanent direction signs to the Overground at Watford Junction station…
2. More new permanent direction signs…
3. Strangely there is a timetable poster for trains towards Watford Junction, even though you are at Watford Junction. Maybe it’s a reference for those who do their daily journeys to this station.
4. A timetable poster for the trains in reverse…towards London Euston station.
5. Line diagrams take the form of the entire Overground network map. A sticker showing the East London line section has been added.
6. If you peer over the reverse of the Overground network map you’ll catch…what’s this? A roundel for Watford Junction!
7. Zooming in confirms the finding. Incidentally, this is geographically the northernmost roundel on the entire TfL operated network of railways.
8. Oddly enough though on the platforms, the station name plates are those designed in keeping with National Rail. It is a National Rail owned station. No roundels here.
9. A view of platforms 3 and 4 looking south. The remaining of the Class 313 rolling stock is awaiting passengers. The new Class 378 Electrostar trains are yet to be deployed on the Watford to Euston line.
