A look at changes on East London line
Since the opening of the new East London line, there have been changes on opening day. I started my journey at Shadwell station this morning and took a few photos of the changes that have been made.
1. At Shadwell, there were celebrations with a special balloon arch to mark the occasion

2. The brand new timetable is now split into northbound services towards Dalston Junction…

3. …and southbound services as there are loads more destinations including Crystal Palace in 27 minutes and West Croydon in 40 minutes (also notice the ten minute journey between Norwood Junction and West Croydon alone!)

4. At platform level, the new line diagram is up for southbound services now showing Crystal Palace and West Croydon as well as the stations south of New Cross Gate.

5. However, on close inspection, the original line diagram has been covered up once again since underneath it all is the entire East London line including the future phase 2 route towards Clapham Junction (you can just about see it in this photo).

6. Finally, the indicator boards show the brand new terminating southern destinations of Crystal Palace and West Croydon.

And there you go, it really is happening now!
