East London line station progress – Canada Water (update)
The last time I came to Canada Water, there was nothing to see of the London Overground East London line platforms as the area was entirely boarded up. But this evening, I managed to capture the entire platform as it was anticipated to open last Thursday but still hasn’t. Here is some exclusive photos I took for you to see…
1. At the Jubilee line platforms, there are new direction signs for the northbound and southbound platforms for Overground.

2. This sign is for Southbound, notice that it says Overground rather than the orange band.

3. This is the East London line southbound line diagram for Canada Water…

4. …but it is only temporary as you can see behind it is the complete East London line diagram which will open later

5. Here is a glimpse of the Overground platforms, looking very nice…(overall, it hasn’t changed much)

7. A notice for contract staff who need to work on the station (not that there is much left to do)

8. This is the view looking southbound

9. And the new roundel signs sporting an orange ring

10. The new signage on the Jubilee line platforms, this side of the platform is for northbound

12. The escalators that lead to the northbound platforms of the East London line but closed

As you can see, the line is ready for passenger use. Still no idea when the line will open but hopefully it won’t be too long!

This looks pristine but being a newish station, Canada Water always looked good anyway.
